The pieces reach to the waist, permitting greater freedom of movement than armour covering the abdomen and entire back. The armour is worn with leather straps over the shoulders and ribs, which are adjustable to size. The Scout combines particularly well with other armour parts and with a gambeson, aketon or chainmail.
